Kallie MacKinnon Counselling Practicum Student
Kallie MacKinnon is a graduate student under the supervision of Dr. Masoud Aref Nazari. She brings a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to her practice, grounded in evidence-based methods such as CBT and humanistic modalities. Through active listening and evidence-based treatment, Kallie is dedicated to supporting clients and their loved ones on their paths to well-being.
In addition to working with adults, Kallie has a keen interest in supporting youth. She strives to create a nurturing environment where clients of all ages, including children, can openly explore and express their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Utilizing a trauma-informed perspective, she collaborates closely with clients to recognize their strengths, set meaningful goals, and apply evidence-based strategies for positive transformation.
Kallie is committed to fostering an empowering space where all clients feel supported in their journeys of self-discovery and personal growth. Having navigated her own path of healing, she understands the bravery and courage required to seek therapy. Her goal is to create a warm and inviting atmosphere where clients, whether children or adults, feel safe to authentically express themselves. It is important to note that Kallie is a graduate intern therapist under supervision, allowing her to provide therapy at a reduced cost.
She will be supervised by Dr. Masoud Aref Nazari, one of Empower Health Mind Body’s experienced counsellors. Masoud brings a wealth of experience and a complementary therapeutic approach that further enhances the supportive and transformative environment she strives to cultivate for her clients. Affordable counselling starting at $70 a session.
Outside of her professional life, Kallie enjoys attending Pilates classes, walking the seawall, and spending time with friends and family.
